    He has always been one of my favorites. Just read his "Last Column". A very gracious, articulate and thoughtful man.

    He said, "My fight is over." When one admits that he/she often is gone in a matter of days. Let's hope he can hang on for a few weeks, but if he truly has given up, he could be gone tomorrow. The will to live is strong, but acquiescence to the inevitable is also strong.

    I actually hope that he is called home very quickly, and with the least amount of suffering possible...
