    Cool Tennessee Bound

So I am leaving from Maryland Thursday morning and going to Knoxville, Tennessee to hang out with my friends for four days. I will be riding my Spyder the whole way. This is my furthest ride ever. While I’m in Tennessee, I am going to take on the “Tail of the Dragon” and the “Devil’s Triangle”. Wish me luck!!

Sounds like a good trip. We will be in the Pigeon Forge area from 6/18-23. If you take the time to do the Dragon, please do the Cherohola Skyway. It can all be done in a one day loop. It is a lot better than the dragon, but works well as an accent road.

Your Buds should know about this road but if they don't it's the " Foothills Parkway " ... very twisty ... it goes south from near Walland ( Rt 321 ) right down to 129 ( the Dragon ) .......hope you have good weather ..... Mike

excellent choice! not sure if you have been there, but on the Dragon be sure to remember the numerous pull-offs so you can get out of the way of the two (and 4) wheelers that will most certainly come up on you in a hurry.

Also, be sure to try RT. 28 leaving from Deals Gap, and you must do the Cherohala Skyway, right out of Robbinsville, NC. WOW, one of the most beautiful rides you will ever take (but don't take your eyes off the road for too long).

IMO, the Dragon is a great technical road and will test your abilities to the limit, and I am mentally exhausted after several runs on it with the Ducati. RT. 28 and other roads nearby are actually much more fun to me. More sweeping curves.

Good luck and stay safe. Beware of dopes on the Dragon that can't stay on their side of the yellow line....there aren't many of them, but there is always one or two....

Get off the beaten path a bit and ride Wayah Road. You won't be disappointed.

That is a great road! But keep in mind that a good portion of it runs along a river that was over flowing last week. Might want to check to be sure it is clear. We are going in 10 days. And part of my plan is to keep my tank topped off in case we have to make a detour due to road closing.
