I heard nothing but good things about them, looks like that might be my first accessory

That would be a very wise choice: they ARE that good!

First class company. One of our locks fell out, and they replaced it. It was at my door before we returned from the trip.

I had the same thing happen to mine. I made sure when I put the replacement in to add some lock Tite to the set screw.

I don't think you're missing anything. I had the same thought as I was reading this. While Lidlox may prevent a casual theft, they will do nothing to prevent an act of "cut and run" by someone who makes off with your helmet sans chin strap.
If the lock is so easily defeated by a simple allen wrench, I would have second thoughts on buying them.
My wife and I put our helmets in one of the storage areas on our Spyder. If we don't have room, we will take them with us, even in a restaurant. We've never had a problem doing so.

Thanks BA. At least if I'm way out in left field I'm not the only one.

Allen wrench is only used after you unscrew the lock with the required key. You would be hard pressed to know this unless you own a set or read this forum. Not that simple.

Just remember any lock only keeps the honest people out. If someone really wants what you have, they will finds a way to get it.
