Default Airbag Switch Arm Not Connected

I have a 2016 RT limited. After a ride today I noticed the bolt connecting the compressor switch to the swing arm is missing. For now, I reconnected it with a zip tie. Can you think of any potential problems? I have a call in to the dealer to make sure they have a new one in stock before making the 1hr trip.

    Most bolts are not unique.
Seems to me that it would be much better to just find out the size and visit a hardware store.
Unless you want an excuse for a ride, that is.

Hey Brian. First of all - Nice Catch.

That tab that's attached to the swing arm is supposed to have a threaded insert in it. Curious if yours is in there. If not, it was never installed or never installed correctly in the first place. It's basically a Rivnut that will compress onto the tab. But the tab is so thin that they hardly ever grip tightly and just spin when you try to remove or tighten the bolt. The bolt is a M6x20 size.

So, if you're any kind of DIYer, and the insert is gone, you could probably make that whole setup better than it ever was just by a trip to the hardware store. The hole in the tab is larger than the hole in the link and bolt, but that's a solvable problem. If the insert is still there, then like I said, it's a M6x20 bolt to put back in there.

Funny, when I picked up my 2016 Spyder RTS (a year ago) that same bolt was missing. (I heard the air compressor running nonstop at a traffic light) When I got home (finding it missing) I looked in my coffee cans of miscellaneous bolts and stuff and found a small threaded stud and nut that fit. So far its been the only thing I ever found wrong with the Spyder!
