    Default battery issue?

Hi fellow Spyder Riders. I own a left over 2012 RT SE-5. I purchased mine in Florida. Shortly after buying the Spyder I moved to Michigan (5 years ago). Whenever I wasn’t riding it I had it on a tender. After this past winter I tried firing it up to no avail. I suspect that the battery is gone despite the tender.
I had some dash lights for a little while. I did see that it is in 1st gear though but now I don’t have anything now. I need to tow it to the nearest dealership which is about an hour away.
    Any ideas??

Why not replace the battery? Then ride to the dealer! The toolkit under the seat has the tools you need to do it.

.....I'm a strong believer that people get rid of their Battery long before it's REALLY dead ..... but you have 6 years on yours and this could be the end of it ........ Do you have Star washers on the Batt Terminals ..... They have bad track record of Staying Tight ...... Mike

By all means. It does not take a dealer to change the battery, & if you have a batteries +bulbs store close by they will probably have a suitable replacement on hand & charged ready to go.
You will get to know your lil more. (always a good thing)
Review your manual for proper procedures, should be straight forward, but just to be sure.
As Blueknight suggested some star washers, would help the connections stay tight, so good time to add them as well.

    Default Battery

Sounds like the battery is dead . I would replace the battery. There's U-Tube videos that are very helpful, if you want to try and change the battery. Most motorcycle shops should be able to change it. Good Luck.

    Battery issue ?
    Yes, highly likely.

Is there some reason that you are NOT considering putting in a new one yourself ??

Having a ~$10 multi-meter around is a really good idea.

If the battery has been sitting discharged for awhile chances are it will be toast, If you need to change it try to get the YUASA YTX24HL which is the original battery. I have a 2012 RTL and it took 20 minutes to change, make sure you remove the side panel to access the terminal.

If your 12 has the original battery--it's probably time. When they quit and die, they are toast. You were lucky in that it happened at home, and not at a restaurant or pit stop over 50 miles from help.

When in doubt, change it out.

Maybe, but probably not. Most likely they'll have another brand in the right size. All things considered the YUASA is your best bet. Call around. If the dealer is close just drive over there. Honda uses YUASA batteries so if there is a Honda Powersports dealer close they might have one also.

    USE THE PHONE.

Some auto stores stock bike batteries and some don't.
As said, check with other brand bike shops too.
Likely that specific battery is used in others too.
