When someone says "apply the brake", they mean put your foot on the brake pedal and hold it while you hit the starter.

They do not mean "apply the parking brake".

Hope this clarifies some of the confusion.

I have had 3 Spyders with the SE transmission. How do you leave your parking brake off when you park it? Mine have always had a loud beeper that beeped until the brake was in park. Did you disengage the safety feature? If you did, someone can just roll your Spyder into a convenient trailer and POOF you have lost your Spyder. Or am I missing something here?

The beeping will stop after about 20 seconds.

i turned it off without applying the parking brake so I could manually move it to get to the rear tire tire stem to check my tire pressure. It will beep for a bit then stop.
