    Thumbs up WOW

Picked up my 2018 F3L today. Three words: wow, wow, wow!

This toy is amazing and fun. I rode 230 miles / 370 kms to get back home after picking up my Spyder. Small country roads and highways.

This thing is wonderful I don't know where to start. I like everything about it.

I come from a two-wheel background, having traded my BMW to buy the Spyder. With the right mindset, the learning curve is quick and easy. I didn't have any issue at all right from the first time I rode a demo unit about ten days ago. I think I would recommend people coming from a 2-wheel to get the auto Spyder instead of the manual/clutch because having a lever on the left hand may trick the brain in thinking there's also a lever on the right hand. When you go auto, no more lever and I feel the transition to brake pedal only is easier.

I really like the auto. I'm surprised because before I rode a demo unit I thought I wanted a manual. I have the new color digital display and it is really easy to read for speed, rpm and gear. It makes it easy to manage the gearing and I am already learning to shift based on noise / vibration just like a manual.

The F3L has a smallish windscreen but I had a leftover vario lip from a previous bike and I installed it on top of the stock windscreen. I found just the right position to easily cruise at 65-70 mph (100-110 kph). There's wind but no turbulence around the helmet. I wear earplugs.

I really like the cruise control, very easy to use. Just like a car. It makes it easy to relax given that there are no levers to manage.

I'm glad I chose the Limited. I like the comfort and the top case trunk. It is just at the right height. I put in the side cases the things I don't need for the road. I put in the top case the things I do need for the road: water, food, extra clothing, phone charging etc. When I stop to relax and rest, it's all there at the correct height. Very easy to close and open.

Good acceleration although not silly fast like a two-wheel. The Spyder remains stable at all speeds. I never go faster than my guardian angel can fly!

    Cheers,

    JG

I picked up my new RT 2 weeks ago and had the exact same reaction as you did.

    Welcome to the family!

    Be safe.

    Hey JG:
You made the right decision. Glad your first real ryde went well, and you're back home excited and safe. Bit of a wet, miserable day outside right now, but the sun is supposed to shine again tomorrow. Let me know if you want to go explore some area roads.
