Mt Evans, Pikes Peak, Garden of the Gods, Royal Gorge, Lake Tahoe, Yosemite N.P. , Four Corners, Deception Pass, Pacific Coast Hwy. , Coulee Dam, Glacier National Park, Yellowstone N.P. , Theodore Rosevelt State Park. Even stopped in at Sturgis, but not during the rally. We had a blast.

You should invest in a National Parks Pass, that way you don't have to pay at every Park you visit, just show your pass. Enjoy your trip.
Sounds like a great trip. I did buy a park pass last year when I made my trip to the Rocky Mountains.

You're being a little paranoid of Cali. Is it the fear of violence that concerns you or the fear of carrying without a CCW?

If you are going to carry in Commiefornia keep it locked in your trailer or trunk UNLOADED and you will be OK.

The cops out here are hypnotized err trained that when they hear the word gun they automaticly start shooting and don't stop until they are empty, enjoy your trip there is a lot of beautiful ridding out here.

I am not being paranoid I am not going to spend my time or money in a place that works so hard to tamp down the 2nd amendment. I spent plenty of time in Calif in my early years and yes there is some good riding out there. I do keep up with the news and there is violence everywhere. Everybody is entitled to their own opinion on this matter.

If you like Lewies, I think the Sled Haus in Lead is actually better... As for beer, the local brewer Crow Peak has a few good ones.

I notice you're from one of the whitest enclaves in the South so perhaps that has something to do with your outlook. To be truthful, you have a lot more to fear from the CA traffic than you do from perps with guns.

We made a coast to coast trip last year, Massachusetts to California and like you we used the National Parks to guide our travels. The Iron Butt Association has a National Park Tour certificate, if you are so inclined. >>> http://www.ironbutt.com/themerides/npt/

Essentially the NPT is capture 50 parks, memorials, battlefields, in 25 states using the cancellation stamps you get at the visitor centers.
