    Default A BAD ACCIDENT

Yesterday afternoon a driver rear ended two Harley Davidson Trikes just outside of San Antonio. I know no details other than the TV coverage but it severely damaged both trikes. The riders were not killed but badly injured. No word on whether the driver was drinking.....but hitting two trikes in daylight is suspect. Sad.

I traded my 2014 RT for a 2017 Mr. White RT-S. I am George Lewis. I live two miles from Boerne, TX. I am 89, retired USAF and Sony Corp. I also have a GW MotorTrike. My email: scoot62@aol.com

When I read your title I thought to my self "not again". Thought you were talking about yourself. Sorry for the rider getting hurt, but glad not killed.

In September 2001, I was 1/2 mile from the house coming from a Saturday breakfast ride with my long time riding group. (we started riding together in 1994 and I still ride with many of the original members) I stopped at a light to make a left turn and BAM!! A 21YO rear ended my '95 Gold Wing. I had my brake on and had a flashing stop light on the trunk. The impact knocked my scoot 20 feet and me 30+. Broke six ribs at the spine and lots of rash. It pushed my trunk against my backrest and drove the drive shaft into the transmission. Totaled the Wing. Had the wife been with me she would have been killed or badly hurt. The driver never hit the brakes. He was driving his dad's new pickup. They had to tow it off. He had a girl with him and I guess he was playing boy girl stuff. His insurance paid off and I bought a '02 Wing and later triked it in '05. My attorney said it is not worth the time or money to sue the boy or Father as they had nothing to get. They had minimum liability and I got that less 1/3 for the attorney. I am lucky he had any insurance as many don't in Texas.....A San Antonio policeman brought my helmet to the house and told the wife which hospital I was taken too. He showed her my helmet with the three large gashes in it and said without the helmet, I would have had serious head injury or worse.....
