Heated seat

I have a 2014 R T S with NO heated seat, so why is there wires plunged into the bottom of the seat??

It's a sensor for the computer to know if a passenger is on the bike. Changes some settings.

much like many cars that have a light stating the passenger airbag is off when no one is in the seat.

What settings does it change? That does make some since, however I notice no difference passenger or not.

I believe the brake system acts differently in an emergency with a passenger aboard.
