Air Compressor
Is there some modification to allow the use of the onboard air compressor (meant to air up the rear shock) to air up tires?

No. No reason to. There's so many mini air packs out there that you can either plug into your power plug in the trunk, or that are rechargeable, that makes any mods to the Spyder electrics a no value added proposition. Plus it will just speed up the already dismal failure rate of the thing, anyway.

My BRP ATV had that option
My 2010 BRP Outlander Ltd. ATV had air ride rear shocks and it came factory equipped with a flexible air hose for that exact purpose...I have not seen anyone with that option or modification on the Spyder YET!!! I would say its doable... larryd

Thanks for the excellent advice. I have purchased a 12 volt air compressor for the times when it is needed.

I have a 12v compressor. First time I plugged it into the Spyder RT trunk, the fuse blew.
I’ve been on the lookout for a 12v compressor which draws less power. Not sure, but I think the RT fuse is only 5 amp. So far, every compressor I’ve seen in stores don’t list their current rating.

Try plugging it into your SAE plug that your battery maintainer uses...This should be a direct hook up back to the battery with an easy replaceable fuse to a heaver amp one...That how I used my portable compressor on my Spyder when the air bag compressor quit...

Where is this SAE plug and it's fuse?

If your RT has one it would be under the seat. If you get a Battery Tender(highly recommended) it comes with an SAE connector that is hooked directly to the battery terminals.

Or get one of the rechargeable battery powered cordless ones like I mentioned above, IF you're gonna have to purchase other stuff just to make your old one work.
