Default Be Careful What You Believe!

As many of you know. I sell quite a bit on eBay. Sometimes people leave product reviews. Usually they can be helpful. Some are funny. But some can be downright bad information. Here is a feedback left regarding an oil filter kit I sell for the SM5/SE5 Can-Am Spyder.

See if you know what is so bad about this information.

'incorrect filter - ordered this filter to replace an oem filter- the oem filter had a pass-through on the top (a hole) this replacement did not. I had to drill a hole in it to use it.'

The OE filter does not have a "pass-through" . So I am guessing that what he thought was the OE filter that he removed was incorrect.

No use putting a filter in it. If you are going to drill a hole in it anyway. Could have saved a couple $.

    Your the best!!

    However you can't fix stupid.
Why would you want unfiltered oil running through a hole and through your engine?

It would certainly improve the flow rate!

    Who needs clean oil anyway!

You are all too smart! I though I'd catch someone that didn't get it.

What is a 'Pass Through' filter anyway? If the oil goes in one end and out the other without ever passing through the filter medium. What's the point?

    Default Really😲

Ahhh come on... he is using his special kind of logic...🤔 oil comes in that hole and has nowhere to get back out...seems logical if you don't know what a filter does or how it works...Interesting part is why would he do that if the OEM filter and the replacement filter are the same...

    I must be missing something.
The 564 filter/kit on Ebay for the SE5 sure looks to be hollow as is the 556 filter I got from you last week.
Hollow as in the hole goes all the way through.
    What am I missing?

    Default filter

I believe the short filter is open on both ends where as the longer filter has a solid back. I hope he didn't try to put a long filter in the short canister.

No need to drill a hole in this end.

Now maybe, just maybe, he couldn't get the plastic off. Some filters come with tough shrink wrap. Live and learn, My 2.

I can see that but the filter shown in BajaRon's Ebay ad for the SE5 doesn't look like that.
I guess it could look like that but the ad only shows the end with a hole and not the other end.
