Clock Issue
Ever since I became addicted to my smart phone!!!!! I quit wearing a watch. However I keep the phone in my pocket while I am riding. So I like the fact that there is a clock on the dashboard. But.......
So I am still trying to figure out this clock issue. When I first got the Spyder, I set the time. The next day it was off by about 7 minutes, so I set it again. The next day it was off by about 7 minutes, so I set it again. The next day it was off by about 7 minutes, so I set it again. The next day it was off by about 7 minutes, so I set it again. The next day it was off by about 7 minutes, so I set it again. Well, you get the idea!!!
This went on for about a week then I gave up. Me being my father's son and hard headed, I couldn't leave it alone, so Monday I set it again. This is Friday and it is still holding the correct time! So what the deal?
I am happy it is working but I would like to know why it took so long for it to work.

Clock
WOW, As some have reported here the clocks on our Spyders do not like to keep the correct time very well. I think it is because of lack of 'Software' like a cell phone. My clock gains time every day. Maybe I will try your TIP.

Cheap chip.....
They are all off in some direction....I only use it as a reference as when I ryde I do not worry about the time. if it nags you to much just get a stick-on digital clocyk and be done with it. There is no fix for it...
Do wonder if they went to a better one on this new techy dash on the 18's.... anybody checked...??

The time on the GPS is always correct, if you keep it on. It is set with the Satellite
signal.
How old would you be if you didn't know how old you were?

Set the clock ahead 7 minutes and see what happens! The other side of the coin is that you're getting proficient at re-setting your clock!
The digital clock on my Fiat Abarth gains a few minutes regularly but I decided it's because it's Italian and fast is an Italian car trait. Maybe?

ever heard... fool me once shame on you, fool me 5 times shame on me?
Dash clocks are historically pathetic, not to mention almost unreadable.
almost any 5 or 10 dollar dash clock from Amazon, or whoever, is going to be better.

The clock on the Spyder is known to be fast, but 7 minutes over a few days is extreme.
Usually, it seem to be around 5-10 minutes over a few months.

CLOCK
My clock gains about a minute per week. But it is easy to reset.

Set it 7 min. slow and be done with it.

...Or put a piece of tape over it, and forget about it's miserable existence.

Is there a "GO TO" Clock to fit into the dash? Been thinking of putting Voltmeter on one side, maybe should put clock on the other.

The clocks keep metric time. They lose accuracy when they convert to imperial time.

It is not uncommon at all to have this issue on the Spyder. It seems that they digitally encoded the clock to the on board compass. If you drive West, your clock will lose time, gradually but still slow down. When you drive East it speeds up just a little.
If you drive East then return with NW or SW routes you will not gather enough return time for the clock to correct for your driving directions!

I use to ride dirt bikes and dual sports. I took one of my cheap Timex water resistant watches and used the strap to secure it to the handle bar. Big dial, easy to read and if somebody jacks it, you're not out more than $12-$18 bucks. Mac
