08 GS SM5
I found this bike at a Honda place. They have it as a se5, it’s got 2000 miles on it. I rode it yesterday, once they got it started, battery was dead, dead after I rode it too. The rear light bracket was broke, hood paint was pealing in a little place. Rode good. Tires look good, even though they were 10 years old. They want 10,000 for it. Seems a little steep to me, book says around 8000 for an excellent one, and it’s probably an se to boot. What’s yalls thoughts on it ? Thanks

IIRC there were NO SE's the first year. That, and they're asking way too much for it with all its faults. Lowball 'em for $7k

I wouldn't give them more than 5,000. Those tires that look good after 10 years will have to be replaced b/c of deterioration, which you may not see. I've got a 2008 that I purchased in 2008, and the paint looks good; not sure what is up with that on the spyder you are looking at. If they want more than $5,000, ask them to cover parts and labor for the 1st year. Unless you can do your own work on the spyder, walk away. If you really want it, ask them to let you take do a BRP dealer to be checked out, on their dime.

You can do way better. It has low miles, but that seems like all the good points. If you want a SM5 thats cool, but you can find nice SE5's for that price. Look on line shipping is not that bad.
This is a sweet bike and he is only asking $500 more (if not sold). shipping around the same $500 +/- Or it only looks like a days drive or so from you.

My wife had a 08 SE 5. It was the gray and black model. It could have been a 09, but it was titled as a 08.

Hi David,

I also have an '08 SE-5, black & silver. I do not know the build date.

Well....
Another here for the overpriced group. You can run the vin# through a BRP dealer and see if it has been updated serviced or in for anything. Sounds like it needs a new battery and or stator or rectifier. If you really want it work them on the price...

For the shape it's in: $5,000, and not a penny more!
