    Default Cat Delete

What are some helpful hints for mounting the cat-delete pipe springs, this is on late model RT? Already have done this before with the standard spring hook for motorcycles. There has to be an easier method than brute force.....LOL

I have done quite a few of these and use the Yamaha branded spring hook.

    Default right angle needle nose

I got a set of 14" very long needle nose pliers from harbor freight. One of them was a RIGHT angle at the end. I was able to hook the spring and able to pull straight back. A lot more pulling power. As for the other long needle nose I can't tell you how many times I used one or the other to retrieve a dropped screw from deep inside where fingers and smaller pliers cant reach.
tip: lift the rear of the cat delete and do the top spring first.

Default If there is the will there is a way.......

I used a HF spring hook but someone else on here used a length of parachute cord. They tied one end to the spring and the other to their foot then pulled the spring and hooked it up.

....I had difficulty also ..... I made a tool from flat stock with a nail bent into a hook near the end ..... I used it as a lever to get the springs off & on ....... I can send pics to a smart phone ..... PM me if you want them ( with your # ) .... Mike

Take a look at post #29. I used a good dog leash for a small dog. Worked great!

See #5 also. SpyderAnn and hubby have done a bunch of them without losing too much skin.

My Cat was really easy to remove and install. Scientific term "Kitty Deletes" was done by Lamont. Both of

    them.
