This wire-loom-looking-thing fell off my brand new Spyder
I found this stuck in my right front lower control arm after my 2nd ride. I have an all black RS, so the grey is out of place. Looks like a wire loom or a protector for the fender mounts. Not properly cleared out of the way and discarded by the dealer?

Are you sure it wasn't scooped up off the road?

Looks like some kind of cover

No. But it was perfectly wedged halfway at the end of my lower control arm. Plus, it looks brand spanking new with no black road marks anywhere.

That's like a swatch of leather from a sofa or chair used to match another piece of furniture, must have came of the road.
Be glad it isn't part of a skunk.

I tend to agree...
If sure looks complete, and if anything imortant had been running through it; you'd already know about it!

I emailed the photo to my dealer. He confirmed it was left over packing material.

Thanks for letting us know what it was!

Gotta say..!!
that does not look like anything off a spyder. Not a likely color and being totally sewn end to end could not have sliped off. Looks like it could be a flag cover off another bike...I have an RS...

I've seen things like that in other good received. I believe it is a shipping "insulator" to prevent damage to something. Sometimes they wedge those in between metal or plastic parts to prevent scuffing. I had purchased a new boat (over 10 years ago) and saw several of those types of things wedged in between my Bimini top metal support poles to prevent damage from the factory (as the Bimini top was folded flat on top the boat for shipping). Nothing serious to worry about IMHO.
Happy and safe rydin'
