    Default Drain the gas tank

    Good morning everyone, just a little bit of snow here in Chicagoland but that's okay I just sent my ECU out to be flashed.

    I'm supposed to run at least 91 octane when I ger it back and I might have 89 in her now. What's the easiest way to drain the gas tank?

    Default Drain Fuel Tank

    Use a siphon and remove what you can. Then add the NEW fuel.

    Or add a dash of Octane booster and the 91 octane of the future!

    Drive it to empty the tank. 89 is so close to 91 that it should not make any "noticeable" difference.

    I have been a 91 person from day one. Going to try 87 for awhile this year--just because.

    Let the octane thread begin.

    All of the above....but does make you wonder why they don't have a drain plug on the gas tank. Used to be you could pull the fuel line off the bottom but now with all the techy stuff they suck the gas from the top....

    Thanks everyone, I had a pump from an old kerosene heater and I used it to pump most of the gas out. I was afraid that there was a screen block to keep anyone from siphoning gas out. I had thrown away the heater but kept the pump. Thanks, Mike
