I also have the Sears version of the harbor freight one. They all work fine on the Spyder.

I'm not to proud to say, have it and it works like a champ.

I also use it on my Goldwing.

I have one as well, not the greatest engineering, some really cheap parts, but it works fine once you get past those issues. Now would I buy it again, probably not. At the very least I would probably upgrade to their aluminum version, it looked much better made and in the long run, the price difference would be long forgotten.

Used regularly on my Spyder RT Limited, even made a wood platform to help raise the Spyder high enough (With jack stands) to change my sway bar. Has worked great!

RussRT, Your adapter cost more than my lift! Thanks for pointing that out. I spent the $600+ bucks the J&S lift costs on trips last year. I could've saved that and bought a new lift every year for the next 7 or so years, but the $80 lift I bought last year still works....<G>
BUT the OP was asking about the HF Pittsburgh lift, not what lift everyone uses.
    Sorry, I couldn't resist.

I have one. It is a little tight getting it under the bike so I routinely run the front wheels onto 2X10s before putting the lift in place. Works just fine.

looked at the Harbor freight version of this one the other day. Almost double the cost of the red one but very cool looking.
The arms that go under the bike are a bit shorter than those on the red lift.
    How do you like it?
Easy to get under the Spyder?

I have and use the HF lift. Works like a champ. I will say this though, for our 11 RTS, we have web boards on and it keeps from getting centered on the Spyder. So to fix this I jack the Spyder up and then use jackstands under it.

Just so folk with the older version with the web boards know, that you can get up under there and centered with them installed.

I also have the ramps from HF and use it to jack up the spyder and use the ramps to change the oil, that way I can just drive off and don't have to leave it up teetering around.

For the folks having to drive up on 2x's to get the HF lift under their Spyder, have you checked the rear air bag pressure? My '13 needed the 2x's until I upped the airbag pressure from approx 20lbs to 50lbs. Still rides great and fits over the lift every time.

DGoebel. I find your post to be inappropriate! What does your financial lesson have to do with the OP question. I did not pay $600.00 for my
jack and adapter. You really should know what you are talking about before you act like an *******!! I couldn’t resist!!!

Default I use the HF jack you mentioned

I ride the Spyder up on ramps first sometimes, or I jack it up and use stands, but either way it works just fine!

I just bought the exact same jack as you have today. How do you position the jack under the bike to get at the engine oil drain plug without it being in your way. I need a oil pan under neath to catch the oil.

RookieSpyder (One day you're gonna outgrow that username...<G>)
I push the jack under the spyder so the back rail of the lift is under the rear end of the center rail. Lamonster has a blog showing that where the rearward rail lines up with the front peg/footboard support. The safety release bar just barely touches the lower deflector when I do this.
Once I jack the Spyder I place 3 ton jack stands under the front A Arms as close to the wheels as possible, and under the rear shock mount. My jack stands have the rubber caps to protect the bikes finish. Once the spyder is solid on the jack stands, I lower and remove the lift. Then I do the oil change using standard oil pans. I do have one of the FloTool 16 quart oil pan collectors. So I collect my used oil over several changes before recycling it at the local WalMart.

Mad Mac, not sure why you'd want to lift it from the front, but you might check out lamonster's blog on lifting a Spyder (linked above) though i did use the same HF jack to lift off my Frunk when I needed to, AFTER the Spyder was up on Jack stands.

I d/n want to lift it by the frunk, I was hoping by going from the front of the bike, I could balance it better. But it works out OK by going from the side, and I can stabilize it enough to do front or rear tire(s) with just the jack ( as long as the grand kids aren't around!). Mac
