Default Rear Wheel Removal, brake caliper removal

Ok, probably a stupid question. I'm getting ready to replace my rear tire on a 2013 ST-L. With the parking brake on (normal parked state) the caliper is tight on the rotor. So do I turn the key on, release the parking brake, hopefully this will let the caliper drop off, re-set the parking brake (to silence the audible brake alarm)? And then on reassembly do the reverse?
