Is it ok to skip through gears when downshifting?

There seems to be a lot of ball busting on this forum. Hope this isn't the way it always is.

Here's what happens:

There is ball busting, and after awhile it gets out of hand. At some point, Lamont (Lamonster the site admin) comes on chastises everyone with a post. The ball busting then stops for awhile. Guess what happens next. That's right, the ball busting starts again, and the cycle repeats. It's just a way of life.
