Heat on Left Leg No Foil on Foam!
As the days warm, the heat on my left leg where it touches the tupperware has become uncomfortable.
Opened up the left side and noticed that unlike all the rest of the foam in the engine bay the two upper pieces have no foil covering . Pretty sure they're supposed to come from the factory with a foil covering.
Well figureing that reflecting some of the heat back into the engine compartment would be a good thing I picked up some aluminum tape at Lowe's
And keeping it out of the engine bay and in the exhaust in the first place.... stopped by the auto parts store and got some exhaust wrap for the header pipe on that side.
All done, so if it stops raining I'll go for a ride and test out the new mods.

Mine don't have foil either. I think they are as much for noise as heat.
You could replace them with DEI heat barrier - self sticky stuff - works great.

Yeah... I feel more warmth on the left ankle, as well. At speed, it pretty much goes away, though.
And, I think I still have a small leak where the Hindle joins the Spyder pipe. I used a good amount of the Permatex 700 degree copper sealant, and let it sit 40 hours before running the Spyder. I might just have to live with the leak, I have though. I doubt, I'll pull the Hindle to mess with it anymore.

Not sure if better to vent heat or keep it in...??

Once thing's for sure; I will no longer wear shorts on the spyder. Thought I'd try it yesterday just to Walmart and back. Big mistake. Left leg was on fire. Long legged jeans from here on out.

pipe wrap
Go get some header wrap, it works wonders. No more hot left leg.
