Default Back Rest on 2011 RT manual?

Can I install a driver's back rest on my original 2011 RT seat. Or do I have to buy a more modern seat? Will any year RT seat fit my bike?

Yes you can install back rest on 2011 RT. I used a Show Chrome brand I believe, it was not hard to do at all. May need to remove if carry a larger passenger. Will be uncomfortable for both if leave it on, only one bolt to remove if needed.

And Yes, any year RT seat will fit your 2011 RT - Just make sure you mask or cover the 'bottomless pit' holes alongside/under the hinges when you are fitting/removing the bolts on the rear hinges.....

Anything falling in those requires you to lift your Spyder overhead, turning it upside down, and shake it vigourously in order to stand ANY chance of ever getting it back out!!

Yes, gou can purchase a 2014 or later BRP model seat and install a BRP backrest.
Are you aware that you can also install third party backrests and mount them to your original seat ? Often these backrests cost less than tge BRP one, and you don"t have to buy a new seat.
My best recommendation would be a Utopia backrest.
If it ain't broke, don't break it.

    Default After market back rest

    Check out http://www.utpr.com
I had a removable back rest on my 2011. It just pulled straight out; very convenient.

    Good luck
