VAL-OIL
has anyone used the VALVOLINE 4 cycle, motorcycle oil....
20180205_100228.jpg 20180205_100146.jpg
all the literature on the container and in the BRP manual states this is an acceptable quality oil...
BRP manual states: API service SJ or above... and the VAL-OIL is API service is SL... which exceeds the minimum level of protection...
however, at $4.27 i wonder about it.... these pix were taken at Walmarts, and it's NOT a sale price, but their regular price...
most motorcycle oils are $10 and up....
comments please, from people in the know about this would be greatly appreciated...
Bob D.; can you flip these pix up-right plz....?

.....I've been using the 4T-stroke 10/40 ( full syn ) version for years now ....It's jaso-2 rated and has the second lowest amount of molybdenum in the OIL ( Amsoil is lowest )., and it's normal price is only $ 6.27 per qt. ....if it's on sale in the SIX-PACK it's about $5.00 per quart ..... the two oils are not the same ..............Mike

I also use Valvoline. I have a 2012 RT and it shifts smoother with the Valvoline.

The $6.67 price seems to be the on-line purchase price. I walked into my local WallyWorld and it was list as $9.99 per quart, yet the on-line price with store pick up is the lower price.

Also running it in the '17 Daytona with a respectable 18k.....
Very good oil. Less shearing in lab reports. I have 2 lab reports coming in in a few days. The RT had almost 7k on it and the Daytona about 5,700 miles, so interested to see what it shows.

Yes, they are.

I have been using the standard Valvoline motorcycle oil 10w-40 for the past 3 oil changes and I have found the engagement of the clutch and everything has gotten smoother.

12 QTS
received 12qt. via the web this week... got 2 Filter Kits from Baja Ron, so i'm good TO GO....
will do an oil change prior to leaving for the DEADWOOD RALLY in July.... i have 3000 miles left on the current oil...
as for 5W-40 vs. 10W-40 there will be NO ill affects to your engine....

i just purchased 12 qts; 6 from JET.COM & 6 from Walmart.com....
Jet will only sell you a max of 10 qts... (Y?... i don't know)... you'll need to place another order if you want more than 10 qts...
Wally will sell you whatever quantity you want...
Jet has FREE SHIPPING for orders of $35 or more, Wally's has 2nd day delivery, and i got FREE SHIPPING as well...
Jet was a few pennies cheaper than Wally's, and Wally gets your states 'sales tax'...
BTW; Walmarts owns JET.COM

Not lately anyway in 10w40............however they do have 6 -packs in 20w50 and I like to use 1-20w50 & 4-10w40 on each change ........... and for those who think you can't mix weights ...that only applies to oil and water ....... not the same type of oil................jmho ........Mike
