Shifter adjustment

Before I put wrench to nut.....can the shifter position be adjusted by loosening the nut without affecting the linkage?
would like it higher after installing floorboards....

yes, loosen both lock nuts and turn the rod I believe it's counterclockwise to raise the shifter. I just did this to my rt this week.

but remember one nut is left hand thread and one is right hand thread on linkage types. Depending on the spyder you have if not enough adjustment you can move the arm on the shift shaft a notch or two to get more reach or less...

Thanks...I see a larger nut into the shift rod and a small connecting to the linkage ....do you remember which goes which way? The larger does not want to move and I don't want to create a bigger problem.....

i'm thinking the nut most forward is the left hand thread, to loosen turn clockwise looking down on it. take a look at the thread direction and it will confirm which is which.

yep. loosen each locknut that are at the fittings, then just turn the linkage rod the required amount to raise the shifter where you want it and tighten the nuts.

Ok sir, I'm back at this ...can you give me the play by play you did?
i see the bolt that holds the foot peg also tightens down the shifter .....I finally was able to loosen that...what's next?
im told the end of the shifter should be approx 11 in off the ground....mine in neutral is approx 8"
