    Default New Toy Hauler

Well I spent some of my kids retirement today! Just traded in my Forest River Work & Play for a new Forest River Shockwave T29KSDX. Thirty six feet long with all the creature comforts and will haul my Spyder and Maverick with ease. I will have to be careful putting it in the Hanger. My hanger door opens up to 12' 10" and the new Toy Hauler is 12' 7" tall. I bought one of the first two made. Made in Riverside CA. No brochures are available yet nor any info on it on the internet. I will take some pictures and refresh my memory on how to post pictures here.

Toy Haulers are getting very popular lately and are comfortable at the Rally and on the road. There were a half dozen at the Tombstone Ride In in the same RV park we stayed in.

Real reason I bought it was for MAX, SHADOW and NIKKI our Giant Schnauzers.
They wanted more room to spread out! We will be going to Quartzsite AZ middle of February, Deadwood Rally and back to Texas for the Hill Country Ride. Hope to see you all.

Could my 6 cyl GMC Acadia tow this or would it be better off inside the toy compartment??

You might need what I got to pull it. 2017 ford F250 King Ranch Super Duty Diesel with 925 ft. lbs. of Torque. Need to upgrade my signature lines someday.

Hate Diesel but love the Torque! Did anyone in high school ever tell you the definition of Torque. I can't repeat it here but it was a good'n.

I attended the Cleveland RV show a week or two ago and saw quite a few toy haulers.

I would have to agree that they are definitely making a move on the market.

I particularly liked one that had cable that turned the ramp into a screened and elevated patio.

Mine has that feature but do not know if I will use it. It does add weight to the ramp door and makes it harder to lift and close up. With a 22' truck, a 36' Toy Hauler and 8 1/2 foot ramp in a pull through I would be 66 1/2 feet long. Most pull through's are shorter than that. I always request that so I do not have to unhook.

Will post some pictures late next week.

    Default Toy hauler

We looked and looked at Toy Haulers for the last 5 years, getting ready for my retirement but the war department just never liked them, we finally settled on a 42' 5th wheel and she is going to pull the spyders with her rig on a flat bed or cargo, I like the Idea of a cargo as then I have a garage to store them and a work shop. We plan on wintering in Texas and spending the summers here in Oregon .

That's pretty cool when you can not only take your home with you on the road, but your garage too!

Geez, I hate it when the hangar doors aren’t tall enough. Your pups should love the new setup, looking forward to seeing it.

Just wondering, since you live in Arizona did you have to get special dispensation to own a King Ranch version Ford? Not that the folks at the King ranch would miss one truck.

Do you empty the "garage" to use the patio or walk around the Spyder?

When we get where we're going: the bike has it's wheels on the pavement.
And it also does a spectacular job of NOT leaving any "walk-around" room!

Toy haulers are the way to go! We had our 35' fifth wheel on the road for a year. The "garage" swallowed one Spyder GS and two sportbikes; though it was a little like tetris to get em all in there the first time.

My toy hauler is a 2008 Jayco Seneca. I like it because it has a true lift gate. Most toy haulers now have a ramp.

The leather seats are from cattle raised on the King Ranch. Really good thick quality. Well so far so good--the dogs have not chewed it up yet.
