Default F/S: New Shoei Neotec helmet (L)

Brand new Shoei Neotec modular helmet. Size: large Color: White. In original box with all accessories, including a pinlock shield for the visor. $500.00. Only worn three times.

I've been wearing long-oval Arai Signet helmets for years and wanted to try a modular helmet. I wore a Neotec for a while at the dealer's, and it felt OK. A bit tight, but that's expected for a new helmet. So I bought one, despite it being advertised as an intermediate oval helmet. It wasn't until I rode with the helmet about 2 hours that I found I really need to stick with a long-oval helmet, as the Neotec created an unbearable hot spot on my upper forehead.

Unfortunately for me, the dealer's policy is that once you take a helmet on the road, you can't return it. The dealer got me a slightly larger helmet liner in an attempt to give me some more fore-and-aft comfort, but that didn't work; it just shifted the hot spot a bit. I also tried some thin foam shims under the liner to try to even out the pressure, but no luck there either. In short, my lust for a modular helmet outweighed my caution against trying something outside my demonstrated long-oval helmet need.

So, my loss, your gain. PM me if you're interested (but be advised I don't check in here every day, so please be patient).

I'll say this for the Neotec: it is incredibly quiet. No wind noise at all behind my fully-faired bike. Much, much quieter than my Arai, and I thought Arais were supposed to be some of the quietest helmets out there.

As another thought..... my Neotec didn't fit me perfectly, so I changed the padding to different thicknesses to to work for me.

I got thinner cheek pads and thicker comfort liner pad. You can get different pads from Shoei...... or where I got them... Revzilla.

I tried that; see original post: "The dealer got me a slightly larger helmet liner in an attempt to give me some more fore-and-aft comfort, but that didn't work; it just shifted the hot spot a bit." The slightly larger helmet liner was a bit thinner to give more room, but it wasn't enough to compensate for my long-oval noggin.
