Default '10 RT (hand braked for disabled rider) main beams & brights dead (frunk removed?)

Hi everyone - maybe someone can offer advice before stripping the whole frunk again?
The only experienced dealership we have this is just over a 100 miles away.

This RT is adapted with a hand brake with a dedicated switch from it to the brake lights. (done by the dealer to rid an intermitent ABS/limp fault that would come up due to the brake conversion)
I cannot say when exactly this fault occured - as everyhting was in order and functioning, intially after the conversion.
Just before my 1st proper tour this Dec, with the help of an assist - we stripped and fitted Ron;s HT leads and K&N filter - which gratefully cured the very rough idle.
Setting out on the trip which was on back roads mostly, found that the bike wont start in gear but a workshop - specialising in Can Am ATV's ie having the buds software - assisted me by brigding the plug in the harness at the left rear footpeg with a paper clip - to get the brake lights to come on and slip the bike in neutral and completed the journey thinking it was maybe the after markert wire that got pinched.

Got home like this but then found that the main beams and fog lights also dont work.
What's puzzling is that the high beams, fender park lights, instruments and all other electronics work, no orange messages or fault codes either - the bike runs and rides fine otherwise.

Checked: The fuses + the fog lights - that they are plugged in + these bulbs are ok.
The after market brake wire was not pinched either

? Could something else have gone wrong when we re-fitted the frunk ?

    Many thanks

Maybe you missed getting the air pressure and temperature sensor plugged back in. It's on the right side above the air tunnel.
