    Default F3 Saddlebags

I’m deciding between either the BRP Cross-Country (219400696) or the Shad (219400721). They both look nice and the Cross-country ones would be nicer because of no mounting brackets & ease of removing, but they are more money than the Shad. Any feedback from people who actually have them & have used them would be great. Please attach pictures too so I can see how they have held up over time. Thanks

Not sure about the Shad bags but my cross countrys would be classified as 'mostly' water resistant.

    Default SADDLEBAGS

I have the Shad bags and have had them for over a year. I love them and they are 100% waterproof. I also have the inner bags that I can take into the hotel when on a trip.

What do you mean by “mostly”? Have you gotten water in them before?

I can confirm the same. Have them only mounted on longer trips. During my last 3 week trip i used them, had pooring rain but all my stuff stayed dry, no problem. Yes, also have the inner bags, The comfort of having those is money well spend (and still cheaper than BRP......)!

    Default SHAD BAGS

Here are some pics of my Shad bags. I used to put them on only for long trips but now I leave them on all the time.FAED82EC-212B-4D2C-A305-F151783BB6A2.jpg06A05B4C-910E-4735-9476-F15EF629B9F5.jpgC97651BA-5865-45CD-8C87-A847EBCC9EB9.jpgSorry for the upside down pics. Could someone correct these?

Thanks for the pics. They seem to sit higher & further out than the cross-country ones. Also they seem to be more of a hard plastic than a vinyl with stitching, which I think the plastic would hold up better. I’ll wait for some more feedback before pulling the trigger. Thanks again.

    Default BAGS

Yes they are the hard plastic and they do extend further out than the Cross Country bags. But they hold a lot and I like them because they are waterproof. They are very easy to remove from the brackets when not needed.

I prefer the Harley bags - easy to mount and remove - waterproof and readily available!IMG_1150.jpg

I have the Cross-country bags, but I've only had them on since August, so I can't comment on wear. I like them. My only complaint was solved with a good squirt of powdered graphite into the locks.

I don't know where you're looking, but they are $1000 on Amazon (which is $100 less than I paid in August!).

    Cool

I vote for Easy Brackets and the hard side leather or vinyl bags of your choice.

Default Viking Saddlebags on an F3

Here is an alternative that is about half the price of cross country bags.

Thanks but I already bought & installed the BRP Shad saddlebags. Mounting was simple & they work and looks great.
