Hi, will this rack fit a 2012 RSS SE5?
I am having trouble finding a rack system for the bike because the support bars appear to be discontinued.
Thats the parts that bolt to the bike that the rack & backrest connect to.
Thank you
Mike

Hi & thank you for taking the time to respond.
I wasnt clear in my OP.
Let me try to clean it up.
New (to my wife) 2012 Spyder RSS se5.
Previous owner had the BDP (or whatever the makers acronym is) installed GIVI hard side panniers and rails.
So thats all we currently have installed.
We are looking into the options to get a rear topcase installed. Mainly the hardware required as she wants to strap her small dog carrier to some rear top luggage rack for the pooch.
The bike has the stock tupperware tail above the break lights.
There appears to be an inter-changable piece that would go in this location which has a flip up lid & is flat enough to somehow accept holding luggage or something.
I have found it surprisingly difficult to determine what accessories are available when it comes to a Spyder.
Unlike our motorcycles which by comparison are full of easy to find extras that fit.

You need the BRP Sports Rack. It fits in place after you remove the plastic cover above the brake lights.
It is expensive & can be purchased in the color of your Spyder. It comes with the flat, removable plate you mentioned. If you remove that plate you can clip in the BRP removable passenger backrest, also expensive.
I drilled holes in the flat plate of the Sport Rack and attached a Givi topbox. I can unclip the plate with the Givi topbox on in a couple of seconds & clip in the passenger backrest & vice versa.

Thank you for the info!
Holy shnikes you werent kidding. This stuff is expensive!
I do like the idea of drilling the holes in the sport plate to add the GIVI.
Thanks guys, much appreciated.
Too rich for my blood at the moment.
