Default too good to be true

It looks too good to be true. When things look that good, they usually aren't. I'd be very suspicious especially since it's coming from outside the country.

It is in Fort Worth, Texas which, I think is in the US.

The bad part is that it could affect pricing for other '17 F3s.

Right click on the image and click on "search google for image". It's a scam.

The item location says Texas, the text say .
    "Shipping:

    Will ship to United States"
That kind of verbiage conflict makes me suspicious.

That "ship to" text is standard, boilerplate text from eBay meaning that he's limiting where he'll ship it. I do the same thing with the stuff I sell.

However, I did do a google search on the image in the eBay listing. The listing says the bike is located in Fort Worth, TX. But the exact same series of photos are used in a dealer's listing in San Jose, CA:

The miles listed are the same in both ads.

    Interesting!

Based on the photo stuff, I now think it was a scam too. It's just surprising with the buyer protection through Ebay & PayPal they could work a scam like that!

I think your on to something there. A good consideration when buying any used vehicles. They are being sent all over the country. Due diligence is a must these days.

I've been an eBayer for 20+ years now, beginning a couple of months after it started, both as a buyer and a seller. Can't say that I'm surprised at the potential for this being an attempted scam. In the very early years, folks who bought and sold there were much more friendly toward one another, helpful and honest to a fault. But, then, the crooks and scammers began to take advantage. Indeed, it was often difficult to get management to take preventative action or intervene. Serious attempts to deter any bad guys often took place belatedly, and only after great outcry. Try as they eventually might to deter such scams, they do indeed take place, or at least attempts are made. It has not been all that unusual to see photos or text from a previous legitimate sale 'lifted' (stolen) and used by a scammer in a later, completely fraudulent, duplicate attempt to sell the 'already sold' item: e.g., a friend of mine in Maine owns an antique salesman's sample canoe. It's easily distinguishable from other similar pieces, and was acquired from the family of an early factory employee, dating back a century ago. He bought it 10 or 12 years ago, and it has never left his house since. Yet he and I have seen that very same item, complete with photos used when he bought it, along with identical sales text, being offered in several American cities, in England, Ireland and various other countries probably 8 or ten times over the ensuing years. Investigations have lead only to dead ends; the crook(s) keep trying. It has happened to me with an antique hunting decoy, one which was unique and so there could be no confusion - it bore my personal brand on the bottom, and that mark only ever went on that one decoy. My photos were 'stolen' along with my ad copy - lifted from my legitimate sale, copied, then used in a bogus attempt to dupe some unwitting buyer. So, it does happen. Buyer beware. If it looks like a 'steal of a deal', it probably is, and you're likely the victim if you're the buyer.
