I have a 2015 Can Am Spyder Roadster with the semi automatic. When I purchased it had 10,200 miles on it. I have had it just about 5 months and it now has 17,450 miles on it so I have put 7,200 miles on it. I am finely learning how to ride it and really enjoy it. Where I live we have a lot of two lane secondary roads. It is rolling country not steep hills. I fine running in 5th gear around 3500 to 4000 rpm which is 60 to 65 mile an hour it runs the best. Going down grade I will go into 6th gear put any grade or if I drop below 3500 rpm I drop to 5th gear. Of course on any interstate I run 6th gear about 4000 to 4500 rpm which is up around 70 to 75 mile an hour. I am curious if this is way other people run their Spyder’s or do they use 6th gear more? I thought I was going to really miss my two wheels but do not want to go back now.

I tend to keep it between 2500 and 3500 rpm, which is about where the best combination of performance and economy is (per the ECO mode prompts). But, I do enjoy opening it up on the freeway - it's a screamin' machine when you want it to be, pretty docile when you don't.
The torque curve is essentially flat from 3,000 to about 3,800 rpm where it ramps up and peaks about 4,800-4,900 rpm, gradually declines until about 6,200 and then drops off rather steeply to the red line.
Artillery lends dignity to what would
otherwise be a vulgar brawl.

on sorting things out!
I use 6th gear a whole lot more; but that's just me!
I'll run in 6th gear from as low as 39 mph. The 1330 has the torque: why not use it?

..., and with the SE trans, you can use full throttle while downshifting, even multiple downshifts ........... I love this engine ............... Mike
