Default OEM fuse block fuse to change accessory power to nonswitched

Okay, I've looked around but can't find what I'm looking for. Somewhere I saw a reference to a fuse on the fuse block for the accessory circuit and how it can be moved to make it a nonswitched circuit (i.e. always on). I want to make my wife's bike accessory circuit switched so as not to cause battery drain (a previous owner apparently wanted just the opposite).

Which fuse block and fuse is it and how can I tell which position it is in? Thanks.

Are you talking about the 12V accessory port? On my 2017 RTS it's the RH Fuse Block. If the Fuse6 is installed the 12V power outlet is only operational when ignition is ON. If Fuse7 is installed, then 12V power outlet is operational all the time. I switched mine to Fuse7 installed so I can use the battery tender thru the 12V outlet. P. 60 of the manual.

Took some pics for the benefit of other forum readers with the same question
20171128_125144.jpg choose right fusebox (on the left in photo)
20171128_125523.jpg open the cover and you'll see this other cover
20171128_125415.jpg ignore the black numbering; they are numbered left to right 1,2,3 ... 6,7 (#8 left blank)

extra replacement fuses are in the fusebox cover

to have trunk accessory plug constant 'on', move 5A fuse from position #6 to #7

You are correct. Sometimes I have access to the internet but my manual isn't handy.

No need to get out the paper manual. A digital copy is available on brps web site free. It can be downloaded onto every smart device you wish.

    Hi Pete,

    Re: choose right fusebox

I know that my '08 is quite a bit different than your model. But, I used a non-in-use fuse holder for my driving lites ( see details in my write-up ).

They come on when the key is turned on; even before the engine is started.

What took some time to get used to ( and unnerved me at first ) is that they stay on for about 15-30 seconds after I turn the key off.

I do not know if the fuse that you choose to use will do this; but, be prepared for it.

My low end cost battery tender goes straight to the battery via the frunk to battery connector with an inline fuse. Open the frunk--plug it in--close the frunk--not tight but close. real basic-easy & fused. Accessory power for the radio--I tapped into the headlight lead.

    2015 RT-Ltd SE6 and F3S SE6, both with a number of commercial add-ons plus my own tweaks.
