WOW! Very lucky!! Could have been a lot worse. Glad you are OK. Parts can be replaced. That load should have been covered. Hope you reported him.

I would show the damage and the video to the trucking company and have them pay for the repairs.

Good thing you had your camera recording.

Default should not be to hard !

if you have the time , and the location , go to the waste management company , tell them the problems , you will get intercepted by the secretary , then the next guy , I think the person would be insurance guy { tell them insurance , they will dance a little I bet } but each driver and each company has logs , and where the truck and the loads were picked up and where it was heading --- so if it was at 10 a.m. just for the heck of it , and what road , they will check the load pick ups in that area , and check trucks in the area , but the video is the key ! with out that I would bet they would say " it wasn`t our truck " with out a witness too the same event !

I really have to look into a video camera for these kind of issues.

Well it might save me several hundred in parts. Plus there is a few small paint chips caused by these pieces flying around. I will probably have to go get an estimate for parts, labor and paint work. The camera is well worth the investment. I went cheap and have a ion camera mounted which cost me under $40.00. Now Ion doesn't seem to offer the cheap version anymore, but there are a lot of options out there cheap vs very expensive.

Good luck with that evil corporation. I used to work for them. They'd rather spend money on lawyers than do the right thing.

I have already ordered the parts but I would like the paint damage repaired and have the dealer do a once over. Lifting it to see if any damaged was caused underneath just in case. If not, I guess I will have to be happy that the object shattered on impact of the road and was not a more solid object, because it could have been much worse.

I bet your local news stations might be interested in doing a story on this and show your video on air. Wasted Management might perk up then. Has risk management seen the video yet?

Big companies like to "stonewall." Exxon still owes people for the oil spill that happened about 20 years ago.
