Red face WTB or free 2011 RT Ltd OEM tall antenna with base

I know many are replacing their OEM "tall" antenna for the short style.
I am interested in adding a second tall one.
    Need antenna and base.

If if you have one let me know.

How about a pair of WalMart shorties or equivalent? That will cost about $20. The OEM's are about $75 each.

Spyder-1, are you planning on plugging the antenna into anything?? Or should that be 'plugging anything into the antenna'?? Whichever way, does the antenna need to function as an antenna?? Cos if not, then just fab up a 'stick' that has the right look - visit your nearest motor wreckers & pick up an antenna from there; choose one that has a whip that looks closest to the BRP whip & is about the same length, the mount end is not too important at this stage... if you are lucky you might even get one with the same finish, but don't worry too much if you can't, it's only gonna be one spray can or coat of plasti-dip away from looking the same! When you get your new/old antenna home, take the tupperware off the rear LHS end of your Spyder & check out where the holes are to mount this antenna. Measure or trace them onto a piece of paper, then visit just about any metal shop & get a piece of angle cut & drilled appropriately to let you mount it inside the tupperware below the press out plug on the LHS & carry the antenna so that it'll stick out that hole at the right angle; and all you really need then is a similar looking rubber grommet to make the antenna match the look on the other side.... or you could buy a pair of grommets & replace the one on the other side too.

It's really only a bit more complex if you actually want to use the antenna AS an antenna, but the biggest thing involved in that isn't going to be getting one that looks the same, it's going to be getting one that WORKS for the frequencies you want to use it for.... and that usually means it's gonna look at least a little different to the other antenna, cos it'll probably work on a different band/wavelength/frequency & have different length & winding requirements!

    Good Luck!

    Appreciate the feedback.
Correct, the extra antenna is only for looks.
    Doesn't need to be functional.
    Very good recommendations.

    Thanks all!

Yes, I agree with all Peter advised and you could get two matched auto antennas, one to replace your OEM and just run a 6MM tap over the thread to fit the spider base then make a bracket for the other side. Most all Dodge , Ford & GMC use the same antennas. When my OEM antenna broke I replaced it with the auto antenna which was the same length etc. and works perfict. I checked 5 wrecked vehicles and 3 had the same antenna so got me 2 spare all free.
