Handle Bar Covers
I'm thinking of removing my RT-S handle bar covers so I can use my Ram mounts. But I don't want to go through the effort if it will look bad. Has anybody done this? Any pics?

As I see it....
You only have a short pipe attached to the molded part going down to the column. You could remove the back covers to see where the pipes are mounted and cut back the covers to expose more pipe. I did that on my RS so I could add switches for extra lighting.

You have a 2017 RT-S? With these type handlebars? If so, lots of RAM mount options:
Center bolt-on mount, don't remember where it came from.
6Salsa VX-8 (Large).jpg
Ratchet-type X-RAM mount, just barely fits.

Hose-clamp type RAM mount. Don't tighten the hose clamp too much as it can squeeze the throttle and it won't return automatically!

JT's dash mount, you can fill it up with 5 RAM balls.

I don't really see a need to go cutting up the handlebar covers.

What exactly are you asking about? The reason I ask it on the RT there really aren't any removable covers except on the underside. Everything you see is structurally a part of the handlebar.
2014 Copper RTS
Tri-Axis bars, CB, BajaRon sway bar & shock adjusters, SpyderPop's Bumpskid, NBV peg brackets, LED headlights and modulator, Wolo trumpet air horns, trailer hitch, custom trailer harness, high mount turn signals, Custom Dynamics brake light, LED turn signal lights on mirrors, LED strip light for a dash light, garage door opener, LED lights in frunk, trunk, and saddlebags, RAM mounts and cradles for tablet (for GPS) and phone (for music), and Smooth Spyder belt tensioner.

Thanks for your input. I am new to the Spyder and was not aware of the handlebar configuration issue. My intent is to use my old style clamp on Ram mounts but that appears to be futile unless I actually replace the handlebars entirely. That would not be cost effective. I think I will just get the dash mount system for my phone. Or..... design an adapter? Hmmm.
