Default 2012 RT Limited selling value

    2017101495081212.jpg
Hello A freind of mine passed away and the family is selling his 2012 RT Limited and trailer. Both are in very good condition and always garage kept. The Spyder has 23.000 miles on it. The family would like to know what a fair asking price would be for both together and separate if they sold the trailer separate. They are located in central MN. Thanks

Sorry to hear of your friends passing. Around here(in Utah) you could get $14,000-$15500 for that outfit. I don't know what the trailer would be worth by it's self.

A suggestion to look through the NADA, KELLY Blue Book for your particular area. The "magic" price is going to be somewhere between wholesale and "suggested" retail. Often you will find a $4000 gap.

Check out the ads here on SL. Many are for sale. Those who are asking to much--usually do not get a hit. A for sale ad with 500 looks and no bites, IMO--say price to high.

The magic price is the one that makes a sale. A word about "farkles." Farkles added on are worth little to nothing to a new buyer. They make it "yours," but not necessarily what someone else wants. For trade ins--they mostly count as nothing. Best to take them off and sell separately. Starting at 50% off.

The original buyer usually NEVER gets their money out of a used motorcycle--and Spyders can be even worse.

I was trying to "give" Linda's 2011 away a couple seasons ago. I had it for $14K and a free servicing. No bites, and she now has 28K miles on it.

Sorry to hear of your loss.
The 622 by itself is certainly desirable. It should be worth at least $2,500 on it's own.
But if you can find a buyer that is specifically looking for the bike/trailer combo: the sky is the limit!
    Good luck!

Update on mine from earlier post.

I have been kind of considering selling the 2011. I made a sincere attempt in 2014 or so. Offered it for $14K and a free check up for the ride home.

Went to dealer today and we discussed a consignment sale--since I have one to many.

Dealer said the $12K starting price is good.

Yours is a year newer, has a few less miles, and you have a trailer. That should give you a good idea for your asking price.

Wishing us both good luck on the sale.
