Stop it you Guys! I'm not frying any Bacon and I can smell it in the house. Trying to loose a little weight and get my A1C down and just the thought of food makes it rise. Especially; Bacon.

I have a long way to go Bob. 8.4 A1C and Glucose 191 two week ago. Bad right. Just lost 10 pounds and glucose this morning is 160. Need to lose more weight and get it below 120. That is with taking 500 mg of metforman. Just had too much fun this summer. I know this is small potatoes to someone who is on the pump.

Don't mean to advertise my personnel health but decided to share as a heads up to others. As we get older (did I say the old word) we all tend to slow down and eat more. That's when the numbers climb. I know two people who have lost limbs due to this and I must admit it scares me.

    Not all.

It's strange, I was just thinking that I have seen an increase of amputees over the last year in physical therapy (at the hospital), related to diabetes. There was one patient I worked with a number of months back that had an amputation at the ankle, and when I saw him again, he had just had an amputation above the knee. That patient was barely into his 40's, and he wasn't overweight.

A lot of those amputations are caused by poor circulation in the extremities.

I just opened a new package of Real Bacon Bits for my baked potato (to go with the BBQ ribs) tonight. The suggestion of bacon "made" me dip into the package for a little taste. YUMMM.......

Type 2 diabetic here, A1C 5.2. I was diagnosed at the beginning of being in a wheel chair for three months because of a broken ankle. During those three months, I cut my carbs drastically, filled up on low carb veggies, eggs, meat and fat, and lost 20 pounds sitting in that chair.

These are the good people who helped me...

Yeah, you have to sign in now, or just read all the info. They will help you get to your goal.

Back to the topic... BACON! It is tops on my Foods I Can Eat list. It's meat and fat. Perfect for my diet! And toss those potatoes, no matter how small...

To understand the difference between having an interest in something and having commitment to something, take bacon and eggs. The chicken has an interest whereas the pig has commitment.
