Exclamation !exhaust help! - new spyder owner

    Hi,

My Spyder RS SE5 is a bit too loud for my neighbors, i live in a old part of the city with alot retired couple, so in respect for them i will need a new exhaust.

I think i have on a effect exhaust on mine spyder, it looks like the orginal exhaust, but it's to noisy, can anyone of you see from this pictures if mine is orginal?

and do anyone of you know any good "silence" exhaust that will help reduce the noise?

Thank you for all the help!

From the outside it looks like the original exhaust. A previous owner might have drilled out the baffles or opened it up internally. See if you can spot any obvious broken welds or pop rivets. One solution would be to get some muffler packing material, http://www.motosport.com/atv/exhaust-packing-and-wraps ,open up the exhaust and repack it, then close it back up. The easier way would be to look for a used stock exhaust and just change it out.

PS- I have the same bike and it's not any louder than an air cooled Volkswagen.

    Default Hard to say....

It looks like an original but modified. You could try looking for an original through 2012 and there are quite a few out there. As for aftermarket pipes to sound quiet, that will be hard to find. Most want to be a little more noticeable....

    False logic.

With the noise directed BACKWARDS by the pipes, "they" still can't hear you coming.......but they certainly can hear you GOING if they are behind you.

    Loud pipes risk rights.

    Default exhaust

After reading this looked at Two Brothers site and they have repack kits. Don't know how many brands they will work for. Good luck.

I think I still have the stock exhaust from my 2010 RS if you are interested. I can let it go for the cost of shipping.
