Replace pins and circlips screen support 2011 RT Ltd for 2012 model
I've read in this forum that I could replace the pins and circlips of the screen supports of my 2011 RT for those of the model of 2012.
Does anyone know the references?
I've found these but I'm not sure.
22 - 1 x 705005974 Retainer Pin (Long)
23 - 2 x 705005973 Retainer Pin (Shorts)
24 - 6 x 250000565 Hexalob Screw M4x10
Do you know why the retainer pins 705005973 are five times more expensive than the long one?
Thank you very much.

Curious
Why ... ?? but regardless, if you go to cheapcycleparts.com you can get all you need OEM cheaper and they will have them in stock to change them. Have no clue why the cost difference....

Oppps! I'm sorry maybe I didn't explain very well.
Weeks ago I had lateral movements on the windshield and I tryed to add some plastic washers to the circlips. At first it seemed fine but
at the end the central arm of the windshield has broken and I will change it. I think it has broken, in addition to the dubious quality of
the original central arm, by the lateral movement of the screen and I read here in the forum that the pins and circlips of the 2011 model
have been changed for retainer pins with screws to prevent that movement in the 2012 model and are compatible, so I decided to change
too.
Then, looking for prices to ask for the parts I wonder that the short retainers are a lot of times more expensives than the long one.
9 $ and 34$ each one!!!
Maybe is too much money and I'll have to wait but in the other side I wont change the entire windshield assembly.
The new central arm is from noboot. Do you think it will be needed to change these parts?
Probably I could try first with the new central arm and if It continues with lateral play go for them.
Thank you for your answers.

Do you know a friend that has a lathe. You should be able to trim the length of the pins down and have them drilled and tapped. You should be able to find screws at a hardware store.

Sorry to say if you feel that 34 cents is too much. How much you think the windshield you are protecting?

Sorry about the price, but even for $34 it may be worth it.

Fitting my replacement arm will lessen that lateral movement and you may not need to do any thing else.
I suggest you install the arm first and then see if you need to replace the bushes in the outside two arms.
Note: you will need to reinstall the two bushes on the center arm.
Cheers.

Of course is for that I would like to change. My surprise was when I saw the same part in two measures and the long one is $ 9 and the short $ 34.
At the end we are speaking about retainer pins and not aerospacial technology.

Yes, I will tray first with only the arm replacement and will see if I need the next step.
Thanks.

Changed the windshield central arm today and added thin plastic washers.
Seems to be solid but I have to test yet.
Happy weekend!
