    Default RT Upgrade

Currently have a 2015 RTS..Trying to convince wife on the 2021 RT Limited. It looks like it will give us a little more room, as we are not really over weight....we are just really too short !!!! .
My questions are if there is anyone that has owned/ridden both models....is there more seat room on the 2021. And what has the weight capacity increased any over the 2015.

    Thanks in advance....

    Tim

Have you had a read of this thread?

There's a few other threads asking & answering much the same question too, so it might be worth doing a bit of a search & checking them all out.

    From the respective operator's guides, total weights allowed: 2015 = 494 lb.; 2021 = 555 lb.

I picked up my new Sea2Sky a couple of days ago. I am 5ft6 and 220lb so asked them to fit the short reach bars and found it very difficult to get on and off the bike as I don't seem to bend enough in the right places. So, try before you buy, wearing your bulkiest riding gear.

Flier Tuck, agree with the mounting thing. I have a right hip replacement, so there is no swinging the the right leg over he back rest for a proper mount, just gotta raise the right leg and 'slide' it over the seat. Dismount the same way doing a little 'hop' to get the left foot in position, not a big problem, jus sayin'.

I also have the short reach bars. I really like them but I agree on 'getting on' the Spyder issue. I turn the bars all the way to the right and them get on. That gets the bars out of the way.

I went from 2012 to 2021 and the comfort level greatly improved for both the miss and myself. It seams like a more refined machine.

Maybe they should have made the Spyder a step through like the old Cushman, for us old geezers that can't get that right leg up

I overcame that problem. I swing the left leg over.

FWIW, as a geezer who's had both hips replaced and can get on and off the Spyder any way I choose, I strongly encourage stretching exercises and, if it's acceptable, yoga. If those options are not acceptable, swimming is equally as good. The exercise will vastly improve QOL and makes Spyder riding more fun.

We went from a 2015 to the 2021 RT. It is a major upgrade in many many ways. I believe there is a little more room for me and my wife. I believe the ride quality is much better too. I had to put Lamonster's handlebar riser on it and my back likes me much better.
I've put 2,100 miles on it since April 13 !

If you can afford it I believe you will be very happy with the new RT.
