Default Castrol power RS racing 4T 10W40 oil

Has anyone used this oil and is it with in specs for the spyder 2010 RT SM5 998? Does anyone have any oil that seem to preform better then others in their spyder? Thanks for the help in advance. I have run the Moble 4T full synthetic in my other bikes with no issues but have not see it in 10W40.

Manual calls for a 5W 40 semi-synthetic (minimum) or synthetic motorcycle oil meeting the requirements for API service SL, SJ, SH or SG classification.
    I used
    Castrol 06113 Power1 5W-40 Synthetic 4T Motorcycle Oil - 1 Quart Bottle, (Pack of 6) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B008MISDII..._mlurLwt2ox2y7
About 300 miles ago....so far so good.

In the SM5, Rotella T6 which is widely available works very well and meets specs. We do not use it in the SE6 due to an abundance of caution with customers bikes and the centrifugal clutch. We also use the T6 in all 1330 bikes.

I've used it and always purchased at Advance Autoparts. Be sure it meets the API service spec for your Spyder as listed in owner's manual.

    Default Castrol RS racing oil

Might try Wally world for Valvoline 4T stroke full synthetic motorcycle oil 10W-40. When on sale you can get a six pack for ~ $6.00/quart. Have also used Amsoil metric 10W-40.

    Default Gotta say...

As long as you meet the spec's in the manual you are covered if you should have a oil related problem. There are many good oils that work great without meeting all the specs. I have used the semi synthetic XPS and have had no issues therefore see no reason to change as I have seen no significant difference in the others....jmo

FWIW, Shawn who post how to videos on you tube, etc, is a BRP mechanic. He says the XPS Semi Synthetic is 70% synthetic. Its made by Castrol to BRP'S specifications. I just used it at my 3000 mile service. I'll stick with it also.

There have been quite a few used oil analysis posted for the XPS showing it simply does not hold up for the BRP recommended change interval.

I used the Rotella T6 in our 2011 RTS SM5 for two years and was pleased with it. Then I switched to the Amsoil Metric. My oil use was halved. When we rode across country on a 7,000 mile journey I changed it before we left and again after we arrived home. I was amazed at the cleanliness of the Amsoil after 7,000 miles. I added one quart on that journey and it was still almost full before I changed it after we arrived home.

No problem, I would never let my oil go the distance BRP recommends. I usually change it at the beginning of each season. It usually has 5k or 6k on it.
