Is the new outer sleeve something that can be added to a dampener that is already in stalled?

Thanks for the offer. We are doing very limited testing due to the cost. The roller has to be milled just right so that the O rings will stay yet be far enough up that they will absorb the buzz. I personally rode the 2012 RT pictured up to 70 mph and then did a very gradual slowdown and had no buzz accelerating or decelerating. The credit for this initial concept goes to Smooth Spyder, as he posted about adding O rings to his unit some time ago that got me to thinking about how this could be done to our units.

When will these be available? I was going to order one of these here in the near future.

We are going to have the rollers available after the initial testing. These are specifically designed for the 2013 and under folks. Cannot say when that will be. I won't release anything until we have enough miles to see what it is going to do. Probably will be two or three ways to go: 1. Buy the upgraded roller and install it on an existing kit. 2. Ship the kit back to us and we will upgrade your existing roller. 3. Buy the upgraded roller complete kit when testing is done.

Planning on being there! My shoulder is getting better daily. Still a ways to go, but on the mend. It's heck getting old....

Is there any difference in performance if the ribbed are parallel to each other.

Not sure why you would want to run them any other way. Maybe I'm not understanding what you are asking, but you would want the O rings is the least restrictive position. Otherwise, they would wear out. Since the roller matches the speed of the belt and there is enough pressure to not slip, they should last a very long time. We are also exploring some different aspects of this system. The neat thing is that every other year you spend $10 on O rings for the unit. If they even wear. These are not the hardest compound that we can use. We wanted a bit of mushiness to absorb the gaps on the outer belt. This was another reason to cover the entire belt with them.
If I have not adequately answered your question, please explain in more detail and I will try to do so.
Just be aware that we have just started testing this, so there is not a bunch of data yet.

Here is a recap of the O-rings needed for the smoothspyder 2" idler on the ribbed belts, they work great.
They should be available from Ace Hardware and many automotive stores.
They are 2' OD x 1-5/8"ID x 7/32" wall thickness.
The Ace O-Ring part # is 35760
You will need 8 and the are about 80 cents each.35760 o-ring.jpgMounted O-Rings.jpg

UPDATE
UPDATE: Talked to our tester today and he has put about 200 miles on so far with no problems!! So it looks like this will work for the ribbed belts. I am going to try to wait until he has 1k on there and then take a look at it, and if all goes well we will be able to start offering that upgrade.
