2010 RTS Engine shutting down shortly after starting.
This problem occurred on three different occasions today.
I would start my Spyder and a few moments later it would shut down. This would happen with 2-3 starts. Finally the engine would start, but it would be idling very fast and I would get the check engine symbol. I would try to rev the engine but there would be no change. Then I would stop the bike and restart, rev the engine and it would run normally.
The only thing I can think of is maybe a bad tank of gas. Filled the tank right after hurricane Harvey. It may have pulled garbage up from the bottom of the tank at the gas station.
any ideas

Very possible...
Ya'll had a load of rain, flooding and water could have gotten into the fuel. Could also check the vaccum hoses on the throttle body and the boots to the cylinders for cracks and or leaks.

a few years ago we had a bad purge valve.it acted a little like your problem.I don't remember if it threw any codes.that was on our 2013 RTS at about 20,000 miles. It,s an easy check for the dealer. We sold the RT and I bought a 2014 STL.

i think you are right
sure sounds like " gas " or water in the fuel , drain and refuel with better gas , might use the sea foam gas additive folks here talk about , or the fuel additive " heat " to remove any water left in tank after you refuel! glad you did well in texas through the hurricane

My 2011 had the same issue, it was the purge valve. Good luck.

I hope it is not the throttle body. Mike had it replaced in the summer of 2015 out in Deadwood.

I tried pulling up the codes, but it would not pull up anything. Took the bike to the dealer today. They can not get to it till tomorrow. Will wait and see what they have to say.
Thanks for all the comments.

mine was stalling and I contributed it to either a bad spark plug or wire. After I replaced them its running better than ever. I also keep a bottle of fuel injector cleaner in the trunk and each time I fill it up I drop in a couple ounces. now.

Looks like it is the "Throttle Body" again. Just had this replaced 2 years ago at the Deadwood Rally. It cost me circa $1200 to replace it then. I told the dealer I need the bike for next week Tuesday. I plan on leaving Wednesday for the "Red Rock Rally, in St. George, UT). He said he will get back to me once he finds the part and give me the price for the repair.
This bike is starting to cost too much. Replacing the same part every couple years.
