    Default Noise

I have a 2011 RTM5, here the last few days, it seems like I hear a noise when I accelerate in first- third, then it quits. I have to really get on it to hear it too. If I just normally go through the gears, I don't hear it. It sounds like sorta a speedometer cable on an old car a little bit. If I'm in fourth-fifth, and get on it a lot it won't do it. If I'm in third once I get up to like 35, and get on it it won't do it. Seems like it's just in the lower gears, and only when you get on it. Maybe it's did forever, and I just started noticing it. Anyone else ever had something like that ? Thanks

    Default Interesting. ...

Sounds like a load and RPM issue. I would check the belt for alignment and tension. You don't have a speedo cable so forget that... might check about for anything that may be rubbing against any moving parts. Remember the angles change under load....

You say you are in 3rd gear st 35 mph. That may be your problem, the 998 needs to run at higher rpm, try to shift above 4500 rpm and see how it goes then.

Chupaca, I believe you hit the nail on the head. I gotta thinking, and I never heard it until after I took about 6 panels off to look at something. Something's gotta be vibrating from that. Time ta do some detective work, this could be fun ta find. Thanks
