Where we go to shoot at Knob Creek, KY. It is in Bullitt Co. In Shepardsville, the school is called Bullitt Lick School.

    My favorites in Alabama:

    Barren Hollow Rd.
Switchblade Cir. (With a sign under saying "Dead End")

Didn't go down either road. The first seemed uninteresting, and I needed to check my Life Insurance policy for the second one.

We were on a group ride out in the country the Sunday before last and pulled off for a break. While we were standing there talking, I look up and see this sign. Had to take a picture of it.

I don't understand the logic at all.

They seem to be replacing the "No Passing" signs.

I fear that is a HUGE mistake.
Wait a minute. There are hills in Florida now? Weren't any when I lived there in the mid 80s. How times change.

Default Historical Markers are also signs

So if you do not stop and read the historical marker signs you might miss something really interesting. It seems that Aurora, Texas has an interesting past. On April 17, 1897 an "alien spacecraft collided with the tower of Judge Proctors windmill and went to pieces with a terrific explosion." According to The Dallas Morning News as published on April 19, 1897: "The pilot of the ship is supposed to have been the only one on board, and while his remains are badly disfigured, enough of the original has been picked up to show that he was not an inhabitant of this world." We now know for certain that there are aliens. How, well it's easy: Sep 17 04.jpgSep 17 05.jpgSep 17 03.jpgSep 17 02.jpg It's on the internet, the Texas Historical Commission put up a sign, and we know that no American Newspaper would ever publish "fake news."

Ask ANY LEO . . . R-E-A-L-L-Y!! They need to be told that and soooo much more, but that's a whole other thread.

What should the sign say.......Do Not STOP ???
seems the cross buck sign is explained in the Florida Driver's handbook
and the "yield" added to it is redundant

    "CROSSBUCK SIGN
Crossbuck signs are found at highway-rail intersections. They are yield signs. You are legally required to yield the right of way to trains. Slow down, look and listen for a train, and stop if a train approaches. Railroad crossbuck signs are found at most crossings. If there is more than one track, the sign below the crossbuck will show the number of tracks at the crossing."

Well the northern part of the state actually has a lot of rolling hills and curvy roads.......but you would never know that just from driving THROUGH there on the Interstate on the way to Miami......where it is flat and swampy.

Yes BUT my point IS that anyone that stupid (or drunk) wouldn't understand why that sign is there or what it means.
    A TOTAL waste of money.

Either things have changed in the past 60 years......or my memory is failing.......or both.
I could swear that almost ALL railroad cross bucks in rural Florida used to include a stop sign.
    But maybe that was Georgia.

    Either way, point well taken.

There's a 'town' called Seldom Seen here in our High Country that is pretty much an old homestead & a couple of fuel pumps surrounded by about 10 acres covered with old 4WD's & cars on an intersection about a hundred miles from the nearest bitumen & pretty much anything else of note.... with a population of One old fella, a few galahs & rosella's that swear at everybody else, & a bunch of semi-tame Emu's, Kangaroo's, Wallabies, & Wombat's that he's rescued, treated, & rehabilitated over many years from the surrounding tracks after they've been hit by the infrequently passing traffic... but just like the birds & animals, it's his home & he's never going to leave!
