Figuring that being seen was even more important than seeing: I went with a lighted Bumpskid!

I have the bump skid LEDs (sort of) also. About 25% of mine quit on one side and now other lights intermingled with the rest have quit working. Now it looks like a lop-sided, gap-tooth creature going down the road. Not real happy with the lack of longevity of the LEDs. I will probably just unplug them when the spirit moves me..... But, they looked great and made the bike really visible when they worked.

Hi canamjhb, we carry replacement LED strips. This one is wider LED strips, much more durable, it won't go inside the groove but will go on top of it for the whole perimeter.

The original led bumpskid was one long strip, it's now split into 2 separate strips that are fed from both sides. I saw some being replaced at Spyder Rendezvous and they're much better.

good ideas on the mounts
Where are you getting power?
Tap into the position light wires?

I think that you could actually just tap into the wires that supply your front fender lighting...

I believe both Lamonster and TricLED (and probably some others) have instructions with their product which suggest where to get the power from. Maybe you should buy the lights first and then ask questions if the vendor doesn't answer them?

not a bad idea,
but like some others, I am not buying plug and play lights but installing my own as did spyder3.
So it'd be nice to know where to tap, but Bob is likely correct.

HAND'S UP:
The only sure way of getting rid of bad habits is to create good ones.
AND, by the way, this will not happen on auto pilot.
It's time for a YOU-turn!!!
