You should be able to go to Oreilly or another one and get you some 10w40 Valvoline full synthetic motorcycle oil and add it to the engine. Or also some Mobil 1 motorcycle oil in the 10w40.

    Default Try this....

Remember what oil type you or your shop uses. The full synthetic or the blend. I prefer the blend cause it mixes with non synthetic better. Now if you are going to change it soon it won't much matter. I always carry a quart with me. The V-twins use oil and you can't always find what you need...

    Default Kits

Kits come in both the full synthetic and the synthetic blend. If you are between the add and full you are still good. If you are not on the stick you need to add. If you are using the blend you can use both regular and full synthetic but if you are using synthetic it is recommended you use full synthetic. Check bike shops if none autoparts for motorcycle type oil for wet clutch. Se5 or Sm5 it's all the same...

Only found it in a full synthetic I think mine is a BRP blend, only down about a 1/4 so I just added that for now. It was Castrol 4 stroke SL rated when I get home I plan on doing a full oil change. Hopefully this will work until I get home for 250 miles or so.

ANY major brand of MOTORCYCLE oil that is close to the right weight range should be fine to top up for a short interval.

Synthetic, conventional, blend......all fine.....as long as it's approved for motorcycle use.

Unless your history of consumption tells you that it would be below the LOW mark after another 250 miles........why are you be the least bit concerned about it being down only 1/4 of the way ?

It was castrol power 1 4t, 10-40 is all they had on the self Full synthetic. I hear you can't run a full synthetic in the SE engines but less than a 1/2 quart should be ok until I change it.

No I added a 1/4 qt maybe a bit more of a quart to my oil tank. Castrol Power 1 4T full synthetic couldn't fine a blend they only had that in 10-40. In any brand Castrol, Valvoline etc no 5-40

Oh well then it MUST be true.

Was there a reason attached to that tidbit of wisdom ??

P.S. In most threads, it is MUCH easier to follow the discussion flow if you quote back a snippet of the post you are replying TO.
In some cases, not doing that even results in unfortunate misunderstandings.
