    If you are using an infrared or remote temp sensor, you really need to check the tire temps immediately you stop working them; & try to get each of your left, middle, & right temp readings taken within a second or so, or at most a few seconds total!! Yes, 'tread surface' tire temps can change that quickly!! On the track, even just a slower than race pace lap to cool off the turbo a tad can make tread surface tire temp readings from such a remote sensor questionably useful!!

    Ideally, you'd use a 'multi probe' type sensor with at least 3 probes that you can press in thru the tread surface & a mm or 2 into the sub surface layer of the tread compound, cos remote or surface temp readings can be somewhat less than the actual compound temps.... but whatever way you get them, tire tread temps are a good indicator of how 'right' your tire pressures are. However, if you don't have a surface or sub surface temp probe of any sort, you can always use/look for a 4psi increase in your tire pressures after an hour's worth of ryding... it might not be quite as explicitly accurate as sub-surface tread temps, but it's readily doable by most, & can be done with the tools most car drivers/bike riders often have available - a reasonably consistent tire pressure gauge!

    Actually--unless one is on a race track-----all that's really needed to determine if tire pressure is correct is to look at the 1st 3 photo's--"the proof is in the pudding"
