isnt the factory fill a 5 year antifreeze. i also put an additive in mine new
last year.
Having just had my 28K service done during which I asked the tech if he had drained the cooling system because it wasn't listed on the invoice and he said it was five year coolant so he just topped it off. I wasn't really satisfied with the answer based on the 9,300 or one year spec on oil changes so I e-mailed BRPCare woth the question, "Is the coolant change interval every 28,000 miles or five years or the mileage and time, whichever came first," and received this very prompt reply, I mean within hours.
"Hi Jay,
Thanks for sending your question our way. We asked our Product Expert who confirmed that you should change engine coolant every 5 years OR every 28000 miles (whichever comes first).
Thanks and have a great day,
Sandra - BRPcare"
Needless to say I am more than a little off at the dealership considering some of the other things I found less than satisfactory about the service. No, I'm not going to name the dealership because after I took up my problems with the new service manager he immediately told me to personally see him on my next trip and he would make things "right" for me.

BRP changed the coolant they use on the newer models but don't know if you can mix and match them. Older models used the regualr auto coolant green. There are additives like water wetter to help the cooling. Depending on where you are climate wise you can thin it out. I run 75% water mixed with 25% coolant with water wetter. There are other coolants sold at bike shops in a variety of colors....Water wetter is pink, there is a blue one they typical green.
