Front brake pad retainers

.Like some before me, I broke two spring retainers on the pads of my front brakes. Will try to make some tomorroww but I've not been really handy at that. Does anyone knows of someone who makes these aftermarket now. It really upsets me that BRP does not sell these as spares. I know on cars you can purchase a brake hardware kit, but not BRP.

I have made one using piano wire from a hobby shop. I bent it free hand and it came out ugly but it worked and has worked for thousands of miles. here is a picture. If I were to do it again I would make a template 1st. Or I would bite the bullet and buy brake pads for one side. Yes it is shameful that you can't get the hardware by itself. But that is

Couldn't find any piano wire (small town), but came up with a assorted brake spring kit at Autozone. Going to attempt to make a couple from them. Dealer is about 1 1/2 hour away and I'm not a regular there. Bought my Spyder from them about 3 months ago used and haven't needed to return for anything. Front pads are about 1/2 down, but I wanted to replace them since I just bought a trailer to tow. Didn't see a picture though....

I don't know what happened to the picture and now I can't find it. I''l find it and repost.

I used piano wire because it is very stiff and not easily bent. If you can get springs to rebend without losing their tensile strength that would work
No craft stores in your town? They might have it.Or nearest Hobby Lobby?

BTW at 1/2 down you have plenty of pad left. It's the rears that wear out quickly.
